How about voting buttons or ratings for different apps?

Once you start getting more and more applications added, it would be nice if you could incorporate some voting buttons or user ratings for various applications.
This way when shopping around for new applications, the user could get a feel for the more popular apps...
Just a thought.

There is a voting area right now. If you click on a specific app's link its rating will show in the top right if it has one. You can vote for it (1 - 5 stars) by using the drop down box farther down the page.
The default view on the category page sorts by rating first and then by the number of page views.

I'm an Opera user so I'll have to check out the Firefox extension pros and cons.

I agree. Something along the lines of like FF extensions where we could point out pros and cons for that specific app would be cool.
