Excellent alternative to Emacs and Vim
I've been coding in Unix and Linux environments for a number of years now and there are 3 text editors that have been widely used at the 2 companies I've worked for, Emacs, Gvim, and Nedit. Emacs and Vim are the most widely used, but if you're like myself and just can't stand them Nedit is a solid alternative.
I believe Nedit is much more friendly to Windows converts and to users that are only casual users of a text editor and don't have time to learn a zillion keyboard shortcuts.
Nedit is open source as well.
By default Nedit has a white background so users that like a black background will have a little work to do customizing their colors.
