Description
Kalva is a lightweight video application for KDE. It uses MPlayer and MEncoder to do the real work. It schedules via atd (movies) and crond (serials). Kalva's main goal is to be quite simple to setup and easy to use. But apart from that it provides quite some useful features.

Kalva lets You

- watch tv from v4l(2) compatible tv cards or DVB cards
- do scheduled or immediate recording via MEncoder of...
- ... divx4/mp3 Avi from v4l(2) compatible tv cards
- ... mpeg2-stream from DVB cards
- ... divx4/mp3 Avi from DVB cards (on the fly convesion)
- manage scheduled recordings
- manage Your video collection with the build in file browser
- play videos from the collection with MPlayer
- call a configurable EPG programm with a toolbar button
- call a configurable video editing programm on the active directory in the video collection
- setup and manage various profiles with MPlayer / MEncoder
